Chair: Henry Boldt, 27boldthe@waunakeecsd.org
Hello! My name is Henry Boldt, and I am a sophomore at Waunakee High School. This is my second year of Model UN, and also my second year of chairing. I joined MUN to engage in friendly, intellectual debate, and to gain a greater understanding of the issues that plague the world around us. Not only do I love MUN for its leadership and communication qualities, but I also enjoy it because of the lasting relationships that it fosters. This committee is important to me because of the prevalence that technology plays in our everyday lives, as well as how (alarmingly) fast it is developing. In my free time, I swim, play volleyball, and play pickleball. I am looking forward to hearing articulated speeches, research-backed debate, and the passing of realistic resolutions. If you have any questions, reach out to me directly at (608) 294-0260 or at 27boldthe@waunakeecsd.org.
Chair: Jackson Ida, jackson.ida@mgschools.net
Hey, what's up? My name is Jackson Ida, and I’m super excited to be chairing at MadMUN for the first time! I am a sophomore at Monona Grove, and this is my second year doing Model UN. I originally joined this club because I thought it sounded super interesting, and I was right. I’ve had a lot of fun with MUN in the last two years, and I look forward to continuing that fun with new experiences, like being a chair. I chose to chair this committee because scientific topics really interest me, and there are often many things to be considered when dealing with new technology. Our two topics, the ethics of bringing back extinct animals, and AI capabilities, should provoke thoughtful discussion because of the moral implications and need for future development of technology and science. I look forward to watching you and your fellow delegates debate these issues this Fall. If you have any questions for me, feel free to send me an email. I’ll see you all at MadMUN!
Best of luck,
Jackson Ida
Chair: Micheal Pelzer
My name is Michael Pelzer and I am a senior at Waunakee High School. I have been in Model UN for the past three years and I am one of the officers at Waunakee. I will be a chair for the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development. I joined Model UN because of my interest in history and a friend who was already a member. And my involvement has given me the opportunity to chair at a conference once before and participate at over ten conferences. My favorite of which being The Northwestern University Conference. Through all those experiences I have learned that the best part of Model UN conferences is working with other students interested in global issues. And more importantly, how to fix them. We have chosen topics with this in mind. With that being said, I look forward to sharing another great Mad Mun with you all!
