Social, Humanitarian & Cultural Issues (SOCHUM)

Chair: Adra Lange - makeitfabulous07@gmail.com

Hi everyone! My name is Adra Lange (she/her), and I will be one of your chairs for SOCHUM. I am a Baraboo High School alumna and currently attend UW-Platteville. I have been involved in Model UN for the past four years and served as Secretary General of the Baraboo team for two years. I am thrilled to be back at MADMUN; I have extensive MUN experience, and this will be my second time chairing a committee. The topics chosen for this committee are modern issues, and we hope to offer you all a realistic (yet fun!) experience during our time together in committee. I remember what it's like being a newbie to MUN, so feel free to reach out with any questions! My biggest priority is making sure this committee runs smoothly and is enjoyable for everyone, so don't feel like a bother if you choose to reach out. I cannot wait to meet you all!

Chair: Maggie Parchem - parchemmaggie9@gmail.com

Hello everyone! My name is Maggie Parchem and I am the other chair for SOCHUM. I currently attend Baraboo High School (BHS) as a sophomore. At BHS I am in two clubs, Student Council and Model UN; I serve as the Treasurer for our Student Council and of course–Model UN as our Social Media Director! Last year stepping into MADMUN I had the opportunity to meet many new people and have a great time with my double–del. I was also very anxious, having those feelings at your first conference–whether it be at  MADMUN or any other conference, those feelings are very valid. You as a delegate are putting yourself out there in front of a group of people trying to solve real-world problems. If any of you are worried about anything feel free to reach out to me, I will try my best to answer your questions to the fullest. See you all in November!
